Cali / LA Gurney van's requiring an EMT?!?

Or maybe you could leave SoCal, work for an agency that pays you more than minimum age, not worry about 13/24 hours, and get a real job doing real EMS where you can go to paramedic school and be a real paramedic?

When I left my last PT EMS job, I was making 12.50 an hour, working 24s and 12s and loving it (the 24s and the job, not the salary). Previously I was on 12s making 15 an hour working for a job I hated, and before that, working in another state making 20/hr on 12s. So it's not always about the money
 
Currently JUST accepted into medic school, So gonna work a cruise job in the meantime that wokrs with my schedule and that way i can focus on medic school. Afterwards probally gonna either move to oregon or texas.
 
Some time ago, my dad used to take a gurney van in LA to dialysis. Although the guys spoke very little english so it was hard to communicate at times, they were nice and on time or early almost every single time, which made life a lot easier. P and I transportation was their name, red and white vans. I don't believe they were EMT's at all.
 
Yeah it's a confusng thing as other companies don't seem to staff emts in their gurney vans, it may be an insurance reimbursement thing? Or maybe other company are just out of compliance. Who knows,I just know it's an easy stress free job where I barely work.
