I went to the DMV in South Sacramento two weeks ago to get my CA Ambulance Driver Certificate and my Class B Permit. They didn't really seem like they knew what they were doing.

For my ambulance Driver Certificate, (I paid for all the written tests/passed all the written tests/ turned in my Green Card info/ and turned in my completed Live Scan) they just gave me a yellow sheet that states --"Applicant's Receipt" "Receipt is not a Certificate" and told me that I would receive my Ambulance Driver Certificate after I took a driving test?? I went back to them after I left to confirm this and they stated the same thing. Does this sound right; I know I have to take a driving test for my Class B but didn't think one was need for the CA Ambulance Certificate?

3 Questions:

My question is what does the CA Ambulance Certificate look like, do you take a drivers test, and do they send the Certificate through the mail or do you receive it at the DMV after passing the written test?

Thanks

There is no driving test and you initially get a paper printout that's good for a few months followed by another permenant paper printout in the mail.

any pointers on taking the written test?!?

I got my medical examiner and live scan taken care of today and I am going to take the written exam on thurs. I have been reading the ambulance drivers handbook (from the dmv) but was wondering if anyone had any info on what the questions were like or what I should concentrate on most? I assume there are more code 3 questions and ambulance operation questions...

If anyone has somewhat recently taken the ambulance driver written exam can you let me know what you thought of it. Am I stressing for nothing?

Thanks
