Over my lifetime I've been pretty good about saving and spending money. Money comes in, money goes out, and I've held out to a chunk of savings.

With my new job comes a new budget. How many of you have a formal budget? Any tips or suggestions for someone who really doesn't have one?

I use(d) Microsoft Money to track where I spend it all. LOL Anything over a buck gets recorded. Seeing how much money I spent on crap really amazed me. I think there is a budget feature on there to.

good luck budgeting anything in this economy...

I have no luck with budgets.. wish I did, and wish I had saved in the past.... I've let a LOT of money go to uneccessary things.

Quicken is another great tool. But, like Stevo was saying, good luck with it.

If you see flashing ads on EMTLife saying that you've won a free trip to Hawaii, or asking you to buy the special blue pill, then you know i've run out of money :)

I tried Microsoft Money but it became more of a PITA than anything because it doesn't seem to work that well with Bank of America and things like temporary holds screwed it something fierce. I just decided to quit blowing money on crap, and life has improved. :)

Actually, BofA's online banking is usually pretty quick and helps me keep track of stuff.

wait...I've been working to much...

What new job? Did you get the one in NC?

Man I need to work less....

Princess,

We've been talking, and have decided that as a community we believe it's time you evaluate your priorities. Clearly you need to work less and visit the forum more.

I took the job in North Carolina, and will be moving next week. It's all happened so fast!

Good to see ya around. Don't be a stranger!
