body cameras

sorry to dig up an old thread. Just curious does anyone know of any EMS agency using body cams? I think either a cam in the back of the rig or a body cam is a great idea myself.

Our community paramedic has one for when he is the only provider on a call. He then puts it on the sunshade to record the transport of psych patients (who are in a PD style back seat with partitions). Our road safety systems also have a camera for the crew while driving.

How long have you guys had it? Did the cams bring you guys anything positive or negative?

About a year. They have neither helped nor hurt or anything since their implementation. It's totally up to the provider whether they are used or not, only one uses it consistently and even then really only during transport.

I would wear one if it meant my narrative would then conist of 'see video.'
