I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering if becoming a security officer would be a good addition to a resume for ems. For getting jobs as an emt or medic, I wasn't sure if maybe it would help slightly. Of course showing up on time and showing you are a responsible employee is key, but is security experience any help?

If you are applying as a EMT/security officer then yes it will help. If you are applying as a single role EMT then no it won't help.

Thanks. Whats being an EMT security officer like?

They're used around here mostly at the Indian casinos. You do all the security guard stuff, plus respond to medical emergencies as a first responder.

I didn't realize that was actually a thing.

No clue. I have never been employed as a security guard/EMT.

Around here they are used only in the casino.

no idea either, most of those security classes teach nothing other then... oh look somebody is stealing i will try to confront them. Only thing i can imagine is like a stand-by for a concert type thing, but as a job.
