If there are any ATC's out there who are also EMT's...I have a question about CEU's. Do activities like going to the National NATA convention every year count towards CEUs for the Registry? If so, how do you document them? I am trying to combine costs for the CEU requirements..I have the CSCS and CPT from the NSCA and know the Annual NATA can count for those...I just hoping it can count for the registry as well....anyone have any idea?

Ha..if you were an ATC, you would!!!

NATA - National Athletic Trainers' Association

ATC- Certified Athletic Trainer (sports medicine..not personal trainer)

NSCA - National Strength and Conditioning Association

CSCS - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

CPT - Certified Personal Trainer

there are some classes at the NATA conference that will work with NREMT requirements, but I do not remember what they are on the top of my head, Contact the NATA and I believe they have a list of which ones will cross

So I just got an email back from the NATA..they had no idea what list I was referring too. Are there any ATC's out there that are EMTs that know how to deal with this CEU issue???

I would imagine that if you can get a syllabus from your ATC CE class, forward it on to the National Registry and see if they'll accept that ATC CE class towards some part of your NREMT CE requirements. It's a long shot as the NATA and the National Registry probably don't "converse" much about CEU stuff. I would suspect that the NR "thinks" that the NATA is some kind of national association for personal trainers, and not for sports medicine specialists. Portions of the NATA convention should count, but I'm not sure how much will.

Incidentally, an ATC should be able to get all those other certifications without too much study...
