Are you an EMT or "Medic"

In Canada only the lowest level isn't considered a 'paramedic'. Every other level is a paramedic. I'm the lowest level which is an EMR but I usually just tell people I'm a medic cause I ain't got time to explain what an Emergency Medical Responder is. If they ask I'll go in more detail.
 
Our ems service is hospital based and still I don't think most of the Nurses or docs know that their is a difference let alone the general public. I actually get called an ambulance driver more than anything.
