ARC FA/CPR/AED, BLS, & EMR

Where in California are you located? Some Red Cross chapters have first aid squads you can get experience with, and they may even pay for EMR.
 
The Pasadena, CA chapter operates a small squad, mainly activated for first aid and 911 first response during the Rose Parade.

If you're looking at this as a career, there are also some good programs with certain fire departments, but I'm unsure of the details.
