Next time you hit the beach, dig your feet into the sand. And consider that your toes might be mingling with the wonder drug of the future: an antibiotic strong enough to combat MRSA, even anthrax. That's what researchers may have found when they dug a few feet into beach sand at Gaviota State Park, near Santa Barbara: a previously undescribed species of Streptomyces bacteria, which pumps out an antibiotic called anthracimycin.
 
That sounds great, but I'm concerned for what type of superbug will emerge as resistant to that antibiotic down the line.

72 hours without food or water, as would happen with a pandemic and quarrantine, is all that's keeping us from falling apart as a society and turning into Mad Max Beyond thunderdome.
 
Yes, but having gone through two bouts of MRSA that took a lot of work to get beat I think that it is good to have a fallback. I agree that caution in it's use is vital.
