Does anyone here know if AMR still runs BLS rigs in Riverside or is it all only ALS?

friends work down there. I dont think they do. I know they are emt/medic though.

Yea they run 1 to 1 and i have my second interview with them tomorrow and i want to make sure because i don't really wanna get stuck on a BLS rig

yea I think your good. that would be a good question to ask in your interview. either way its a huge foot in the door. Times are though right know. take what you can get!

Do you think i have a good chance of getting hired if i got a second interview?

of course my man. that's how the process works. just dress the part. and answer appropriately.

Not if you tell them you do not want to be on a BLS unit................

Be thankful and humble for any opportunity they offer.

My thoughts exactly.. A lot of of paid our dues on a BLS unit. The interviewing manager will probably thank you and never contact you again if you mention something like that.

You guys assume that i would say something like that...im not THAT stupid haha cmon

CCT>BLS>ALS. At least with the CCTs it's RN or RT/EMT/EMT so at least the EMT gets to spend time in the back. I'd rather do BLS than just drive a paramedic around all day long.

Yea haha ALS is kind of like a medic taxi, but i just want to be out in the field a little more you know...it's just my personal feelings, everyone is different

if you get hired. you WILL do BLS time, especially as a new EMT. I work for one of the other RivCo AMR divisions and all our new EMTs do BLS before they can get a permanent ALS shift.

Do you know what i will have to do during the AMR Riverside agility/physical test?

The AMR agility test is the same everywhere. And, kc, in one and one counties, you do time on a BLS rig (no 911 during this time) before you get on a one and one rig.

There are some counties where they run BLS 911 rigs. :cough:LA:cough:

Actually, AMR Riverside runs BLS IFT rigs. If you're talking about what responds 911, yes, they're all ALS.
