A collision between an ambulance and a Nissan Altima on Tuesday was primarily caused by the emergency vehicle's failure to slow down before running a red light, sheriff's deputies said.

"The investigating officers at the scene have indicated in the report that the failure to stop at the red light was the contributing factor in the crash," said Deputy Chief Dale Bennett of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
