Hello folks I've got a little situation on my hands I've failed my NREMT twice but and I'm studying for my third attempt. Howwever I noticed my CPR card expires next month! My CPR card is through American Heart Association do you know if I can do the recertification online or in person? I've found a place in Santa Barbara that does classes for 55 bucks at the Safety Matter Certified Training site. Or do you guys know of any other places that does recerts?

You may be able to do part online, but you'll still have to go in to demonstrate the skills.

An HCP recert is four hours in person.

Does the place you did your medic class offer a re-cert? Usually the local fire department will do them for pretty cheap but it might not be for the health care provider. Also most ER's hold classes regularly, possibly the ER you did clinicals at would hook you up.

Yeah, the education department at most hospitals will hold a BLS refresher a few times per month.

For what it's worth, there are online courses where you pay, test, and get a card that says you have passed in accordance with AHA guidelines. I did it once as a backup ONLY when my company dropped the ball. This way is totally online. Can't remember the name. Procert? Just Google it.

That makes me have so much confidence lolol.. Not you specifically but people in general who think that is a viable option.

Edit* Apparently they watch you via webcam and provide you with a cheap cardboard mannequin, AED Pads and a BVM for roughly$74

Still dont know how i feel about that, maybe for a bystander just doing it to learn but not for a professional.

My problem was I was under a govt contract. The contract required CPR/AED/FIRST AID cert. The verbiage was under "AHA guidelines.". I let my company know what I was doing after getting one of my men certified as a BLS instructor and they refused to buy the dummies and DVD. So I got the online qual and met the terms of the contract. Took test, no webcam necessary.
