After passing emt class and nremt

Just received my nremt certificate and number in the mail yesterday, so im guessing I will be sent my state certifcate separate? That comes with the patch too right?

Yes most states give out a license that is separate from the nremt certification. Not every state gives out a patch though.

Some states require a separate application for you to get a cert/license. Check with your states ems licensing agency to know for sure.

Should be on the National Registry website, I believe.

And you might have to do a background check for your state card. At least in my state, after you get NREMT, you go and get fingerprinted then wait on a background check, then they mail you your State cards, certificate, patches, blahblahblah.

For most states you have to contact your county or state EMS agency and fill out an application. Normally this process requires a fingerprint and background check.

You should be able to find out information by googling "(your state name) EMS agency".

Talked to my instructor he said I will get my state cert in the mail in the next few days. We did a background check prior to class so I think Kansas is a little different than other states process wise
