Advice wanted in 'Forced Resignation' situation

Those are "for cause".

In Calif, a State worker who has paid into the state retirement fund (CALPERS) relinquishes all earned funds if arrested and convicted of any felony. All they get back is their contribution, taxes due.

In MI. you can receive UE benefits following termination IF you can come up with a reason that the agency deems unfair, Hockey's right. Providing the employer doesn't fight it that is. If the boss fights it, it can be a long battle. Redeterminations are frequent as are denials. We have a 16% UE rate here right now. Anyone with a job is fortunate and just as in the housing market..for employers, it's a buyers market!

Bottom line with first time workers; A 19 year old is not going to be hung out to dry for quitting or for getting fired from his first part time job. Certainly not a student.
