Well after years of never sporting any sort of sticker, or plate I was wondering if anyone (CA) has gotten the new liscense plate for EMS?? How does it look etc.....I was wondering also if anyone has a line on the paramedic fire helmet sticker? Just a boring thread but thought I would throw it out there an see who responds. Cheers

Dang...I thought I was gonna get an honest spammer when I saw the thread title. :P

I've said it time after time. The only reason I would get an EMS license plate, was if it got me out of tickets, or got me some other perks, like special parking privleges. (I hate the meters)

Does being an EMT not get you out of speeding tickets? I don't really ever speed so I wouldn't know, but I hear that the cops around here are taught not to give EMT's Doctors, Nurses, Medics, Firefighters tickets unless they are doing something really, really wrong... You don't wanna be 4 hours into your shift, on the ground somewhere and looking up at the guy you ticketed on his way to work this morning is how they explain it.

I hope you are not saying you would treat a Police Officer differently for doing his/her job?

Having an EMT cert should not give on the right to break the law and be granted a free pass. That goes for driving your POV or ambulance.

It could also be you on the ground looking up at EMS and LEOs after no one stopped you from driving recklessly.

Any law enforcement agency that "teaches" the LEOs not to give tickets to a select group is seriously opening itself up for lawsuits especially if a member of the public is injured or killed because the LEO was "taught" to look the other way. This is a very bad and dangerous practice.
