12 lead placement

Hopefully most paramedic schools are teaching this nowadays…

More than the manufacturer’s recommended placement of limb leads, I’d promote getting into the habit of putting all potentially legitimate cardiac/ ACS patients on pads preemptively.
 
Also a worthwhile thought…how are you putting combi pads and 12 lead on at the same time?

I like doing doing AP placement for this. But it’s still sort of in the way sometimes.

As an intercept provider, I appreciate this. I don’t see it all the time from ground crews.

Interestingly enough, recently had a patient with an extremity injury who would only tolerate a left lateral recumbent position while curled in a fetal ball.

Talk about practicality superseding manufacturer recommendations on limb lead placement.
