Does anyone have this or is thinking about getting it?

There's a certification for 12 leads? Damn, I'm in the wrong field. I should have gone the, "Make certifications for random poop for EMS" route. Anyone here want to be certified in oxygen administration?

ME! I need another worthless certification. I wanna be certified to administer oxygen. While you're at it, make up one for slinging a band-aid.

I've never heard of a 12 lead certification. There is a class that teaches twelve leads, but it's typically for paramedics that should already have a grasp of cardiac physiology. As far as I know, there is no certification for attending that seminar.

Thanks for the sarcasm guys. Lol. I meant a class that will teach me how to analyze heart rythms on a twelve lead. I'm trying to lessen the shock in paramedic school.

There are several good books that have been mentioned on this forum on that subject. I think Dale Dubin's Rapid Interpretation of EKGs is a good start.

The American Red Cross actually has an oxygen administration certification. :)

usalsfyre EMT-P, CCEMT-P, ACLS
EP, BLS, PHTLS, PEPP, CEVO II, FTO, 12 Lead EKG, Advanced Airway Credentialed, TCFP-Basic, Rope Rescue Technician, NIMS 100, NIMS 200, IS 700, IS 800

(Wait, isn't that a nursing nametag? :D)

Study A&P.

This^. I'm telling you and everyone else right now, if you know how the heart works, you will find EKG interpretation a breeze.

This is a common mistake I see among paramedics. They have never had a formal A&P class and can barely explain how blood moves through the body let alone explain cardiac conduction physiology. Then they sit and wonder why they can't read a simple strip in lead II, and they fight the need for pre-hospital 12-leads harder then fire fighters fight the need for EMS at all.

Start with A&P and when you get to EKG's you'll blow your classmates away with your mad rapid interpretation skills. :)
