This is for anyone that works in EMS that has had their gall bladder removed.
How long did it take for you to go back to work?
I am on FMLA leave and am a little concerned that I will be released too soon. I know my company wants me back in a hurry and they don't really care if it's too soon...
When I both worked and volunteered as an EMT I worked with someone who was about your size and weight. It was a challenge for her, she was able to do it and did it better than some men who were a foot taller and double her weight.
Little background information on me to start.
I was injured back in May 2010. The flexor tendons that allowed my middle finger to flex were lacerated completely. Because I wasn’t working, nor did I have insurance I wasn’t able to have the surgery needed to correct it.
In August and...
Not that I know of. The one I'm talking about is the only one in the county that I'm aware of. My other problem is, I am unable to travel long distances in my car. My car is older and not very reliable.
I did not have coverage that that time, no.
In Florida after talking with the social workers and doing research, the onyl way you get Medicaid is if you have Children and make under a certain amount of money, but you have to have both criteria or are clearly disabled. My wife has SSDI and is...
It's a county public healthcare plan. The county provides it for people who don't have any insurance and who are unable to pay for medical care. This is what the social workers have set me up with. I am ineligible for Medicaid because I don't have any children that live with me.
This is the...
Unfortuneately, unless the alternate healing methods would reattach the tendons, those are out. I'm not even considering getting rid of the finger. That would be a rash decision.
You're pretty much correct in your assumption in regards to the mobility. I can move it up and down at the knuckle...
I know that you're not mocking, as we have joked about that fact since it happened.
Yes, I am worried about the mobility and function I do currently have.
Can you tell me the things I could do in the ER? Are you talking Patient Care Tech or Medical Assistnat type jobs?
I don't have the money to get the other surgery, yet you want me to get rid of the finger? It may be cheaper, but I don't have that kind of money either, nor am I ready to part with my finger. I haven't lost feeling in it, it's just unbendable.
Thanks for the confidence.
I can see one issue though with me. The gentleman that was missing a finger had his injury done and over with so to speak. My finger sticks out and since I am unable to bend it, the finger would become a hazard, no? Can get broken, crushed, torn, etc... I don't have...
I'm sorry in advance if this ends up long.
Back on May31, 2010 while cooking breakfast for my me and my wife, I accidently put a steak knife through my hand. I severed two of the tendons, both of which control my middle finger's bending ability. Right now it's stuck in the up position and the...
I'm hoping that someone from Florida that has been through the re-cert process can tell me what it is I need to do in order to re-cert.
I know that I certified in the middle of the 2 year cycle for Florida and that my Cert expires on December 1st of this year. What I don't know is what I need...
