Just about everything comes in one use bottles that come boxed so it’s not bad. Our drug boxes are medium sized tackle boxes and everything they pull out and check is on 2 of the pull out shelves. It was well thought out…
If you take your drug box in and sit down to finish out your paperwork...

I have been very care full about what I post with anything that has to do with PT rights. All the information that I posted has been in the local news papers at least once, but they gave more information then I did.
I understand that people have asked about PT care in the past and...
There doing 54 hearings back to back to decide witch company is responsible for witch PT’s medical expenses. This is not a common practice in our court system but I’m sure it’s cheaper for everyone then having 54 normal hearings. If they did do normal hearings I would spend 2 to 3 months in...
I life guarded for 5 years. I would go for a swim twice a shift for my fun. I only had to get into the water one time as a lifeguard and that was when a 3 year old fell into the deep end; parents no where to be found.
I had a few people that asked if I could swim and I tell them that I do...
From what I have been told I will be there for 2 to 3 full days. There will be 4 large desks; one for the 3 judge panel, one for each of the other parties (insurance), and one for me and my layer. I will be present the entire time. We go over each PT as they presented at the time and then the...
I got a subpoena for a school bus rear ending another school bus in a parting lot (low speed). It was 98* out side and the students just came back form a sports game. I ended up the as triage officer. FD first on scene grouped PT’s into 3 groups; injuries, any medical history, and every else...
We don’t to tell a PT that we don’t think they should go to the ER if they ask. But we handle it one of 2 ways. Call county shift manager (RN) and give PT report and then hand phone to PT to ask them. Explain to them everything about what could be wrong with them and make sure they are well...
I have no idea how other places deal with there drugs. We carry two drug boxes on ALS unit and one on a BLS unit.
We have a drug box that has a seal on it. If you open the box then you must check it in when you get to the ER and check out the new one before you leave. The RN that checks...
I got it once in a class. The teacher picked up the real units and not the training unit. I was standing at the time and it knocked me to the ground. Both teachers freaked out and I ended up wearing a 12 lead.
I left our portable o2 in a different areas rig one time. My driver blew the rear main seal of our transmission and got a local department to transport us to the hospital. I drove into the city when I got off and they had empted the tank but they did give it back.
I don’t know how many...
I can see the cot mount for places that do a lot of PT transports but we hardly ever do them so I would go for a wall mount. I have at least a 20 min transport time on my runs so this would be nice.
I would do my best to get them on our trucks if;
12 vdc with battery back up

My department bills insurance but will not bill the PT / family for DOA. If we transport to the morgue or hospital then they will bill the family for transportation only if insurance dose not pay.
Our protocol states an officer must witness a 3 lead and vitals for all DOA.
We run in to this a few times a year. Our protocol says once in rout with a PT you must take the PT to the destination or a closer receiving agency (I read this a morgue or a hospital).
I have picked up a few and had them decline treatment part way to the hospital. I do a full medical...
We have three 2 wheel drive and three 4 wheel drives. The 2 wheel drives are BLS and the 4 wheel drives are ALS. I think one 2 wheel drive unit never did get OnSpot chains put on but the rest do.
During the summer ALS rotate units. When the weather is bad they move a BLS crew to a 4 by 4...
I don’t know how funny this is but every one was LOL when they played the tape in our meeting last week.
We got a call to assist at a local high school foot ball game where one of the BLS busses decided to go hang out for a few hours. We have a 30 to 40 min drive to ER.
Dispatch- respond...
There are a few FF that we run with that are able to drive for us and there are a few FF that are able to help in the back of the rig. We have a mixed fire / EMS with paid and volunteer.
Our protocol calls for 2 EMT or higher for a bus to run. Both of the drivers I get during my week are...
I have never had flew shots of any kind and don’t want to start with this one.
In 1998 I had 3 positive PPD test and they found 2 spots on my lungs. I was treated with INH for 11 months. Every year when they push everyone for the flu shot I ask to see the research where they have tested it...
