deadlift is the perfect lift to make life in EMS easier, although... i would never recommend it to a beginner, form is CRUCIAL in the deadlift...when i first started and had no training on the lift, i damaged my sciactic nerve from improper form and was out for 4 weeks. At least watch "rippetoe"...
Active in EMS with other health problems....i've been doing CrossFit over a year now and been following the "zone" diet with it. Lost about 35lb and now am focusing on better performance and strength, working wonders. I also have asthma which doesnt help while trying to workout :\
