Wore glasses in the beginning but joined the contacts world. It's easier to put on regular sunglasses than have to switch out prescription sunglasses... However I would like Lasik. It really sucks waking up at 3am and realizing half way to a call you forgot to put on your glasses...
First try- I was the lucky one who was randomly selected to get all 150 questions and be asked ABG'S and other in hospital lab values. Needless to say I failed
Second try (last night) Cut off at 95. I just found out I passed. I'm FINALLY a Paramedic.
The cops in my area are very well trained first responders. If they haven't given IN prior to our arrival I will usually start out with 0.5 IN. It's case by case... Heroin is HUGE around here and unfortunately it's easy to see when the streets are "being cleaned". If there is a bad batch going...

For Cardiology my saving grace(s) were the following
Rapid Interpretation of EKG's - Dale Dubin
The 12-Lead ECG in Acute Coronary Syndromes- Tim Phalen
Basic Arrhythmias with 12-Lead EKG's - Gail Walravej (Brady)
My "bible" is the little ACLS spiral handbook.
I have also heard great things...
hmmmm. Our community hospital has a "Bat Phone" that has a completely different number and is *usually* reserved for Signal 600's. (Most definitely recorded). Depending what service I'm working with and the nature of the call I will just call CMED on my cell phone and ask them to patch me...
