I was under the impression that AMR provided emergency service on Fort Sam Houston however while I was browsing the USAjobs website I came across a posting for a GS position (EMT-B/P) with the Air Force EMS. Anyone have any insight?

Getting certified and getting hired are two different things. An arrest may not officially disqualify you from any public service job; i.e. fire or county EMS; but it could be a big hit when it comes down to eliminating candidates from a large list for limited positions.

My wife wants to move back to California. Anyone have an opinion on working for non-fire EMS in either Shasta or Alameda counties? I'm looking at AMR, Mercy, or Paramedics Plus.
