So I guess I fall into the sparky category. I'm still fresh out and if I was to guess I've probably done around 50 calls to date so I guess I'm still in my honey moon phase.
Hey David when using the paid software I'm sure it outlined the areas you really needed to work on have you considered going back and studying the material? I know software like EMTPrep dish out the same questions repeatedly so it's easy to obtain that high average. Reread the chapters, and reach...
Besides patient care make sure you know how to drive properly using L/S. Sometimes people just love the idea of using L/S that they forget some of the more fundamental rules while using such an apparatus.
So in order to drive an ambulance most agencies/companies offer a CEVO-Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator course. This is to tackle the concerns you've outlined. And as for the driving aspect it all depends on the call. If its a BLS call then you wouldn't be driving but if it's ALS then more...
Hey guys! So I was just curious to see how many of you listen to whats going on in your city using either a radio or the tool Broadcastify while you're not on duty. I learned that a lot of my fire house friends like to just keep Broadcastify open on their phones when they're off duty just to...
Hey guys I'm from Connecticut and I've been looking into this private ambulance company that serves my area along with the FD. So today I called them up and and they said being a new graduate I'd be doing primarily transfers and some 911 calls. Not wanting to sound ignorant I went along with the...
This was honestly a unique experience for me. I went into my test unsure of what to expect. My first 3 questions were all on cardiac management with answers that all sounded right. But after 90 minutes and 106 questions in I'm proud to say I officially passed the Written portion of this...
Any update to whether or not you passed? I'm scheduled to take my test 07/14 and I've been using EMT Prep and I also bought a crash course book off of Amazon. Can't wait for this test!
I get that and I respect your input, however is there a way I can continue practicing after I finish the training? My grandparents are paying for this training and they want me to take it. Last thing I'd ever want to do is cross them.
From what I've been reading being a 16 year old the labor laws won't approve of that. Also will I be able to get my certification? I talked to the instructor and he said I was able to participate in the training hasn't mentioned anything about the state approving me.
Hey everyone from the looks of it the majority of the users are quite friendly and I think this would be a great platform for me to receive extra help. I'm only 16 years old and I recently enrolled in a EMT Training Class. With that being said here is a little about me.
