The key words here are "provisional" and "differential". A lot of doctors in my area would still not count this a diagnosis, but maybe if we encouraged and incorporated more of these diagnosing terms here in the United States, our profession would be taken more seriously by the doctors.
We were always taught that we don't "diagnose" in the field in sense that we can't for sure tell if someone has pneumonia, or a kidney stone, or a UTI without the definitive diagnostic tools that a doctors office or a hospital has at their disposal. We don't give that "clinical diagnosis" that...
I have a very PRN weekend job at a local race track. I drive a creepy looking "free candy" van out to people if they wreck and provide bls support or first aid for their boo boos and some times they let me wave the checkered flag.
I can pick up every weekend if I want, but I usually only work...
Some of you guys have some man power!
We run 3 ALS trucks, usually staffed with 1 EMT and 1 Paramedic.
EMT's are being phased out though so more and more we are running 2 Medics on each truck.
If it is a code in progress or any major trauma, we roll 2 trucks to help out, but the 2nd truck is...
I used emtprep.com to help with my NREMT paramedic review, but they have EMT basic and advanced levels to do to. It did cost money, but I only paid for the 1 month subscription.
Passed
I took my NREMT paramedic written December 10th after having been out of school for 1 year and 11 months, Just pushing the 2 year rule.
Test ended at 82 questions and I passed! Whoop Whoop.
I took mine in the late morning and it took 4 hours for my results to be posted to the...
Hi All,
I am Mrs. Medic. I have worked in rural North Florida for 4 years, 2 as an EMT and 2 as a Paramedic. I am also an adjunct instructor at a local community college, shaping the minds of aspiring EMT's. I love my job and hope to always keep learning and teaching others what I have learned!
I started looking into being an EMT because I was tired of college and wanted to get started in a career that did not involve a cubicle.
Then I absolutly fell in love with it. I want to go on to be a paramedic after I get my feet wet. From there who knows.
