Working on an ALS response vehicle for a private service here in South Africa.
We work long week/short week schedule.
Long week:
On: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 6am to 6pm with standby at night from home.
Off: Wednesday and Thursday
Short week:
On: Wednesday and Thursday...
Pockets: Personal phone, work phone, wallet, Leatherman multitool, pocket knife and a hand held torch.
On my belt: Leatherman Raptors, Glock 19 and a spare 15 round magazine, both concealed.

Had a similar case here in South Africa a month or 2 ago.
Pt was stabbed approximately 1cm above sternal notch. O/A pt was found on a couch with a massive amount of blood on the floor, couch and his clothes. The wound was still bleeding.
Pt was +- GCS 12 O/A but quickly deteriorated to GCS...
Double murder scene, turned out to be people that I have met before.
That puts the number of DOA's for this cycle on 8.

For the amount of blood that this patient lost he was actually very stable.
Unfortunately we had to wait for an ambulance to transport because we cannot transport in our response vehicle.
