Does your location have a lot of EMS personnel? The one I'm in has only a handful.

I'm scheduled to do a lift test soon, and I'm apprehensive.

I passed all the lift tests and the written test :D The lift test was pretty difficult but nothing I can't handle.

I got my certification 14 months ago and I test for a company tomorrow...

And I'm a little scared. I was at first scared of the lift test, but I should be able to handle that. I passed the NREMT at 70 questions on the first go, so at the time I knew the stuff pretty well. I haven't taken a test for my knowledge in quite some time. The last time I took a test...

I'm scheduled to do a lift test soon, and I'm apprehensive.

So I applied to an ambulance company and I was told to take a lift test. At 130lbs and 5 ft 7, I'm underweight. I don't lift but I exercise every weekday by taking a Krav Maga class. I can do 8 pullups though, which means that I can lift my own weight 8 times. From what I've heard, the...

Has anyone heard of Ameripride Ambulance?

Are they legit, or are they shady? I literally can't find anything since they're apparently new.

Has anyone heard of Ameripride Ambulance?

They're based in LA County. Has anyone heard of them? I've used the search function and the company was mentioned once or twice, but it wasn't a lot of information.

How available are 68W positions nowadays?

I'm about to take the ASVAB and join the Army. I already have an EMT-B in CA, but it's been about half a year since I took the National Registry and I haven't had time to recert. I thought it would be pretty appropriate if I joined as a 68W. My recruiter told me that it could be a while...

What did you fail for practicals?

I screwed up DICEE. I know right, the easiest thing to fail out of all of these. I did fine in the others though.

Anyone heard of or went to the El Camino College Fire Academy?

I want to be a firefighter, and I'm considering doing that along with being in the fire explorer program. Is the academy any good?

Is it safe to apply to AMR online?

It asked me to give them my social security number, and I did. But I regret it and I'm scared :/ It's this site https://performancemanager4.successfactors.com/career?company=EMSC

Not sure if I should be a firefighter or police officer

Wow, that actually sounds pretty good. Yeah I think I'll do that. I think I have to be involved in both Explorer programs to be able to do ride alongs, but I'll try to do both.

Not sure if I should be a firefighter or police officer

Before my EMT course, I wasn't really interested in the fire department. I was interested in becoming a police officer, though. However, now that I'm certified and looking around for jobs, being a firefighter is appealing to me. I won't be making any decisions now since I'm too young to work...

    EMT Basic.

EMT-B isn't that hard. I finished my training about a month ago, and it was all just memorization. Knowing what NOT to do is just as important as knowing what to do.

Should I bother applying to hospitals as an ER tech?

I'm a brand new EMT. I don't have any experience right now. A hospital is accepting EMTs. Should I bother applying?

    the 100% directionless thread

*uber late response* It's essentially a program where normal people are trained to respond to huge natural disasters or anything with a large number of casualties, and to supplement the emergency services. They triage and do very basic first aid (treatment for shock without oxygen, bleeding...

What study techniques did you use when studying for the NREMT?

I just used the interactive flashcards thing I found at Barnes and Noble. It worked well enough for me.

I contacted them shortly after I made this thread and the issue was resolved
