We're in the exact same boat! Most of us are working adults, and a couple MA's in our class said the adaptive tests were ridiculously hard, that they nor their paramedic friend could pass any of them. I think I'll go with EMT Prep or EMT National Training.

My instructor is encouraging us to buy this test prep program. Have any of you tried it? Any feedback?

    Pharmacology and Patient Assessment

I do have a very inadequate understanding of A&P. What's a good, affordable book? I'd probably prefer something really in depth so that I can choose how shallow or in depth I'd like to go with each topic.

    Pharmacology and Patient Assessment

Thanks you two, I had seen both of those books before and was hoping in a nerdy way I would have an excuse to get them. PoeticInjustice, as much as I would love to at least go advanced, I'm currently taking pre-reqs for med school. I have 8 classes to take, and time and money are unfortunately...

    Pharmacology and Patient Assessment

Hey guys, I just started my EMT-B classes a few weeks ago, so I'm still getting oriented to what all I'll be doing on the job. But from what I've gathered is that the book isn't going to teach me all that much useful stuff for being out in the field. I know a lot comes from experience, but I...

I wanted to revive my old thread. I did not get to take classes last summer because I couldn't afford them, but I'm going to give it another shot next semester. I've moved from Fairhope to Saraland, for those of you who know the area. Firstly, my goal is med school, but I have a lot of...

So you Want to be a Paramedic???

So this would probably be a good time to ask something I've been wondering. How can I find out which schools in my area are quality and which aren't?

    New EMT

Hey guys! I've enjoyed reading through this forum quite a bit. I'm taking classes this summer to become an EMT-B. Do you guys have anything you wish you had studied more in your schooling? Books you wish you read? Questions or procedures you feel like the school doesn't prepare you enough for...

    Mobile County, Alabama

Is full-time usually 40 hours? It would be pushing it, but I'd try to do 40 hours a week to be able to get benefits, but if it's 50-60 hours, there's no way I could do that.

Thanks! I just saw that the USA program is at Brookley kinda south of downtown, which is perfect since I'll be living in Fairhope, so at least I don't have to drive all the way across Mobile. Living in Fairhope, with most of my classes and ties in Mobile, do you think it would be best to put in...

    Mobile County, Alabama

Hey, is anyone familiar with Mobile/Baldwin County? I'm looking to get my EMT-B license this summer here. Here are a couple generic questions maybe anyone could answer: Are there big differences between EMT programs? We have a CC offering one, and a university with a big medical school...
