Hey all, just curious if anyone currently works at or knows anything about Community Ambulance in Henderson/ Las Vegas area? How’s the pay, morale, benefits, overall company feel?
TIA
Hey all,
Just curious if anyone knows what the work environment and benefits (I know I know lol) are for River Medical/ AMR in Western AZ area, Kingman and Lake Havasu City area? Nothing recent really on search.

Anybody work in Mojave County Arizona. What companies are there and have you liked working there? Thinking of moving there or Phoenix area and curious what my options are?
Hey all, I let my NREMT lapse in 2015 but have been working full time as an EMT in California. I am interesting in moving out of this state and was wondering if anyone has let their national lapse and had it reinstated and how it was and how it all worked. Is it difficult to do? I don't exactly...
It depends on your LEMSA requirements for CE hours for recerting. In CA, if you take a 24 hour refresher course, as an EMT you have enough hours to recert.
True, the benefits might be a little better at county, but they are still way understaffed so the OT is pretty killer out there, end of the month can be interesting as units are browned out cause they can't pay the OT. By all means, apply where you'd like, I like the stability at MBA, I'm...
I guess I can chime in and put an end to some of the myth.
First off, MBA is a good company to work for, no better and no worse than Desert, AMR, Liberty, CARE, etc. The pay is on par with the aforementioned companies. Simple fact is, you're not gonna get rich doing EMS, but that's another...
I would emphasize and I believe that this is the way that it's going, B-L-S interventions above all else, good quality compressions and early defibrillation are what will matter! Also, what was said above sums it up quite nicely
The burnout of non tiered people and those of us who suffer in an all ALS system, where too many ALS personnel end up on insane calls like hangnails, all complicating the scene, comes from a outdated and preposterous system of protocols and abilities (not skills.) We need to be able to refuse to...
In other words, you're burnt out, all but the most critical of calls make you suicidal. You are proving an oft repeated point really, that a lot of people get into fire to do anything other than EMS. One of the main points of us incorrectly labeled 'anti-FD' folks is that fire SHOULD focus on...
Doesn't this in a way give some weight to someone who doesn't want to get vaccinated. I mean, if someone goes and gets the measles vaccine, even multiple doses, and there's a certain percentage chance that they will still get the disease if they happen to go around someone who has the disease or...
I'll float one simple question and if there's a reasonable answer, I'll leave it at that.
Stipulation 1: When you get vaccinated, you are supposed to be protected from the disease in question that you got vaccinated against, correct?
Stipulation 2: In the recent outbreaks that we've been...
Funny how LACo was the first county to have paramedics and it has changed (or even gone backwards) the least. Anyone who has seen the ALS protocols knows how ridiculous they are, anyone who's worked BLS there knows how stupid it can be, the best you can do is document. Not just PCR'r, IR's as...
Early CPR and defibrillation are both BLS skills, if those are the key ingredients, then BLS is looking pretty good, I'm not sure I see your conundrum at that point. Post ROSC care absolutely should be ALS!!
I'll just leave this here and see where it goes. I've always told my trainees and EMS students that BLS will save just as much life as ALS, just curious others thoughts.

Don't know how much reading you have done on back boarding/ c collaring, but it was doing WAY more harm than good. For that 1 in a million call that someone misses (and my personal opinion is that it's not hard to know if someone should legitimately be c spined) the numbers will still be much...
Short answer, no, you didn't do anything wrong, you're not going to do much harm to someone by giving them oxygen, even at 5LPM! As has been hounded above, there was no real need to give O2 based on what we heard. Sure, you can give O2 as a comfort measure, but unless the pt asked, I wouldn't...
