Correct; being anything medical is completely outside of my normal job. I really don't know why they won't pull people out of the clinic but it maybe because they don't have a lot of people - I only saw 2 of them in there yesterday.
Either way, how heavy can some of these bags weigh when...
It could be "variable" but it would be going with my unit's other gear. My unit is a self supporting joint force "purple" unit that has a strong appetite for travel. For the time being, I most likely will be doing what I was going to do tomorrow: ride tail in the GOV and pickup the needy. The...
I am in a situation, my military unit wants me to provide standard first responder care to events (like "fun runs") and the medical detachment is willing to give me whatever I need (within reason) to provide adequate treatment until the big guns (local ambulance service, the clinic doesn't have...
I was considering using my EMT-B I got for volunteering (I am not a military medical person) to help pay my bills and fill my empty house. The conundrum is that I am active duty military and I work shift work already.
I wanted to know generally how little or much I can work depending on my...
BINGO! That is EXACTLY what I was really looking for. Now, I just need to wait and see if a volunteer organization will pay for the training versus sending me to the community college. There is also the issue of getting my gaining organization to approve leave before I even get there. :glare...
I should rephrase that EMT-P is a very large amount of training to be doing all in one lump sum. I am not worried about doing the training but just finding time separate from the other required duties of my military job.
The EMT-E is going away, but since the EMT-E is only 80 hours additional classroom time I was looking to get that done by just taking a week off, assuming it runs 12 hours / 7 days. EMT-I is just getting renamed to AEMT
Really, the paramedic level seems way high up there and I dislike online...
I know, I hate cramming stuff into a small packed space but I really need to find a good EMT-I or EMT-E (Virgina entry-level ALS) boot camp. I already have hundreds of hours of practical emergeny room experience as well as some formal advanced (I am active duty military) training, such as IV...
I have seen them over here in Germany. We have one for sure in each Gym as well as the pool. I am sure there is one in the medical clinic and possibly one in the Enlisted & Office clubs due to the amount of people that gather there daily. Our shopping mall as well as the base theaters may have...
Officially there isn't a policy, however, the Emergency department bought everyone (except volunteers :glare:) stamper pens and requested that they use them. My handwriting sucks, and in order for it to be semi-neat I really have to slow down, and then it still is hard for others to read.
I am active duty military - finding the extra time as a shift worker to take my EMT-B was a challenge, that's why I need to knock it out one at a time. As for license number, I haven't gotten a state license because I live Germany and volunteer at a US hospital that doesn't have a state...
Hello everyone,
A pretty simple question: Under what circumstances will my EMT-B registry number change? Currently, I am an EMT-B and my number starts with B.
I am in the process of trying to get a stamper pen for use at the ER I volunteer at and wanted to know if I should put my registry...
I just got done doing exactly this. I am a 3D (communications) but wanted to get my EMT-B. I had done a lot of prep work prior:
- Volunteered hundreds of hours at my local military ER
- Read the whole EMT-B book prior to attending the class
- Sought permission months in advance so there...
I volunteer at an overseas military hospital and am allowed to do all the non-invasive stuff they can do as well as assist in the invasive stuff, such as sutures and IV's. Now that I have my EMT, I am under another volunteer description to be able to do anything they can.
By volunteering, I...
