    Have a BA already

Got my EMT ticket as well and looking at a local medic program. They offer both an associates and a certificate program. The certificate program tosses out the english composition I and II and a few other classes I've taken when I got my bachelors. It basically focuses on the medical part it's...

    Certificate vs. Associates?

A bachelors in what? Last I checked EMT-P was an Associates degree. Sure someone could go on to get the bachelors or get theirs first (like me) then do EMT coursework.

    Hands Only CPR

An EMT friend went to a work site where a woman had a seizure. A co-irker started "hands only" when the seizure stopped. They never ABC'd the woman. My friend and partner got on scene to find the pt trying to fight off the co-irker as she was doing compression's. Apparently she took some...

    Best Pants and Boots?

I love my 5.11 pants. I have flying cross uniform shirt/pants for the PD and they're not holding up very well. I wear Corcoran boots and they have lasted a good while.

My Pay, Meal Break and Rest Break violation of rights

How many jobs have you had in your life? Did you not know going in that jobs like these don't really provide for breaks? I've sat in my cruiser for hours on details without a bathroom break (cops do have larger bladders than most, as do EMT's for all I know). It's the nature of the work...

    nausea in the crash seat

All good advice. And yes I find the seabands worked for me. They get uncomfortable after wearing them for a long time (all day) because they are using a pressure point so they are pretty tight. For how cheap they are, they're worth picking up.

    nausea in the crash seat

My flight instructor told me that it's also mental. She had a student who always got sick when her husband was flying, she went up with with this instructor a few times and she got over it. Non-drowsy Dramamine works for me as well, I totally don't get motion sick or sleepy while on it.

I'm working a detail for the PD tomorrow for one (traffic, general security). No idea on the layout of the course but they do make me a bit nervous.

    nausea in the crash seat

I get nauseous in my cruiser when someone else drives, especially if I'm on the computer. I can totally see some one get nauseous in the back of a truck. I wore those pressure bands that are anti-motion sickness a couple times and whether they are rely on the placebo affect or they actually...
