Tomorrow, I am flying to Denver for a "bariatric airway bootcamp" CE. I am under the impression they are gonna be using cadaver? Not 100% sure. A friend convinced me to go. I got a bunch of points from traveling so just paid everything with points.

    Interview tips!

EMS interviews are not that different than any other kind of job interview. They are most likely going to open up with "Tell us about yourself." They are then going to follow up with questions about customer service, conflict resolution, stress, team work, communication, safety, etc.. They...

Anybody going? I haven't been to one before. Considering going mainly for the beaches and to visit my not so little little brother.

AMR/LIFELINE Response Failures in Northern Arizona

Is the problem just because it is rural? If a new ambulance company comes in, where are they gonna get the staff?

Who are you trying to list? Old active members? medicRob, MrBrown, Kat, LifeguardForLife, RidRyder, NVRob/Handsome Robb, Linuss, Veneficus are some of the names I remember. Edit: I was just looking at the members lists. Jeez... some people joined after me, became in active years ago, and still...

    New Mexico Paramedic License

I totally forgot to update this post. They do tests in Santa Fe, Clovis, and Las Cruces. I flew in to El Paso, TX and drove up North to Las Cruces. It was about a 45 minute drive. If you want to go to Clovis, fly into Lubbock, TX or Albuquerque, NM for Santa Fe. The test was 100 questions and...

    Advancing clinical knowledge

Hey, I was exactly in your shoes. Blood gas, ventilator, CAMTS, and flight physiology portion of the online class are probably not useful to you if you don't plan to do flight or CCT. It won't hurt to learn those though. The rest of the online class, which there's a lot of material, will cover...

    Interviews

What DesertMedic66 said. It might be a regular interview with nothing else. Usually it is sprinkled with a little bit of clinical questions or the clinical questions are really just disguising regular interview questions "You are dispatched for a chest pain patient. The patient's family is mad...

Failed my first attempt at the paramedic exam today

99% of people who say they failed NREMT talk about how well they did in their class, how well they did on practice tests, etc.. I think when it comes to the actual test, those things don't matter. Whatever it is, whatever people do to prepare for Fisdap, it does not prepare you for NREMT.

Failed my first attempt at the paramedic exam today

Google says first time pass rate for paramedics is 70%. I think the odds are in your favor of passing eventually. Obviously the test has very randomized questions and covers everything. I think they send you something saying your stengths and weaknesses. Go over your weaknesses. I think it is...

    Union question regarding hire

Are you in the Bay Area? That's what it was for us. Really, CBAs can vary a lot by location. There's not really normal practice except a no strike rule usually.
