    Fatigue Questions

If it is that bad we as in me and my partner will switch or vise versa. When I was on a 24 ift/911 car it was mostly one sleep on the way there and other sleep on the way back. An actual emergent call also wakes you up pretty quickly...

What is your most ridiculous call?

Motorcycle vs auto. Guy on motorcycle decided to try and beat a yellow in the bike lane. Well Light and auto won this battle, Pt smashed into the front driver side fender and ends up in the middle of the intersection. Obvious tib/fib deformity and left wrist deformity. Splint everything and get...

    Fatigue Questions

Well got off a 48 and got a total of 7 hours of sleep between the 2 nights. Got off and went straight to the part time job. I signed up for this and do not regret it but being that I work for a smaller 911 company in SoCal we do not have the resources to give guys solid sleep. Just part of the...

    EMT-B Student needs Help!

Pocket prep app on my phone helped me a ton, really focused in on what I was struggling in. Although you have to pay it is is worth it. As for the temper, find ways to handle it better. Getting the 3 AM ETOH call is no fun especially when they are loud. Contact class mates who passed ask them...

Hell, I could make a weekend out of it! Being fresh out of 21 that is a win win. Also helps that it is only ~4 hour drive.

    NREMT Yesterday

Holy moly after that test I walked out feeling like I couldn't drive my brain was fried. I even sometimes forget and others do too, but this is "basic" emt stuff. Congrats though! I remember thinking no way at some points and I for sure passed it at others. Just glad I got it out of the way.

Is EMS designed to attract dramatic people?

You mean an EMT can actually do the skills he/she is taught. No, it couldn't be! I really just want to get my hours and get into medic school. Fire/LEO is the end goal, I have a passion for both. Maybe FF just a taddddddddd more :). I am not so much excited to go out and save lives...

Is EMS designed to attract dramatic people?

Maybe it is worthy of a new thread @VentMonkey. Your post kind of hit a good spot in me! I mean a good spot. I think every person who starts in EMS (including myself, guilty) glorifies it as a career of happiness and rainbows at first. I think I have a better understanding then most "rookies"...

    Addiction

Are those coffee grinds things good? I would definitely give it a try for some caffeine instead of a red bull or monster. I have dipped and throw an OCCASIONAL lip here and there but no addiction. Cigarettes were a faze then it got gross. Really intrigued by these grind things....o_O

    New state

Then I am pretty sure all you have to do is apply for license and pay your fees. I would start looking on google just to be sure.

    New state

Well if you kept your NR up to date I am pretty sure all you have to do is apply for a license in the that state. I will most likely renew my state license and NR when the time comes just for this reason. I am young and may move. As far as companies go I have 0 say.

What age is appropriate to introduce firearms to your children?

@CodeBru1984 Are you from NorCal? I am guessing they are more lax in less populated areas, but OC. Good luck, I would like to apply for one but I don't think there's even a remote chance.

What age is appropriate to introduce firearms to your children?

You must not be from CA then. CCWs are VERY, VERY few and far between unless you are LEO (obviously). The only reason my dad got his is because the only thing stopping a 6 inch blade meeting his abdomen was a duty belt (Class A Fire uniform). So self protection got a pass on his app, but even...

What age is appropriate to introduce firearms to your children?

@Fido198674 No it was more brought up about a 7 year old taking down her first deer. Most people got their keyboards out and turned into the third reich about it. The girl showed no lack of safety and showed confidence in safe gun handling. It really was not a big deal, should have been more of...
