So this got me thinking. While Neo will shrink the blood vessels down don't you also get transient hypertension which could cause any formed clots to break away and risk a continued epistaxis?

    Was I wrong?

In a dream world that would be great. But reality is provider level does not equal same level of training, understanding or even competence at that provider level. Which is absolutely shameful.

Try it out on different areas and check it out. It was a bit surprising when we did it. And it made perfect sense why we don't need to discern small points in areas such as the thighs

Lol we actually studied this in physiology. Simply take 2 sharp objects and poke yourself simultaneously. Then spread them apart and repeat until you can discern 2 separate pokes. Now do the same in another part like your fingertip and see how closely they can be for you to feel the 2...

Juggling Paramedic School and work as an EMT

Find a course that is 2 days a week. The program I went through and also another one I now teach for are Friday evening for 8 hours and Saturday days for 8 hours. There are plenty of programs in California with a realistic schedule for the adult learner with work and familial obligations.

Pulse ox & aeds, shouldnt bls units have?

You would think that they would have AEDs for sure. Pulse Oximetry for what? If the patient is short of breath it is treated with oxygen at the BLS level and you don't need a oximetry for that. If the patient is not showing any signs of dyspnea then why would they administer medication? Sure...

In Mass Attacks, New Advice Lets Medics Rush In

Yeah and if memory serves the first crew to get paged to this never responded because they were to scared to get anywhere near it......... Regardless of duty to act, each responder in a matter of seconds after hearing a page like this go out is going to have a million things go through their...

In Mass Attacks, New Advice Lets Medics Rush In

The thought of sending any healthcare provider into a warm zone with a suspected terrorist attack is ridiculous. Years of conflict in war torn countries have shown over and over the first attack is to lure people in including health providers only to hit with a second to take out the first...

CCT: Vent. Transports Gone Wrong. Air or Ground

Yeah these are all emergent transfers through the ER unfortunately. But yes I agree the company should have it's own vents just for this reason

CCT: Vent. Transports Gone Wrong. Air or Ground

Only issue for me is the 2hour portable battery on the LTV1200 not living up to its 2 hour claim. Have always been able to plug it in thankfully anyways during the transport itself. Don't typically rely on the battery for brief periods but on occasion while waiting on beds sometimes it will...
