I met , who is now, my wife. I asked her out on what would be our first date. I smoked, she didn't....so I quit. We've been married for 17 years now.

I might be hanging up my boots. I have not been on a call or on duty since the beginning of the year. I threw out my back early January, and have been seeing a chiropractor 2x/week since. Every time I feel I am getting better, something happens and out it goes again. Finally, after a few...

We are supposed to get a freezing rain/snow mix Friday. Yeah, super cooled precipitation falling on the ground/ buildings/trees that are well below the freezing point... I seem to recall back in '76 we had an ice storm that was preceded by very similar conditions. I remember not having power...

12 hr shift tonight starting at 1800...then off the rest of the weekend. I will be at the Packers Game Sunday...looks like it will be a snowy game. That's cool, because I will be staying in Green Bay overnight. Don't feel like fighting traffic in 6-8" of snow with a majority of the travelers...

Really want a Jeep Wrangler, it's one of the things on my bucket list....but cannot afford one at this time. I am not a big fan of GM products, only reason we had the Pontiac was because my wife was working for Mercury Marine at the time and because Mercury was using GM engines for the stern...

Damn....my car has a blown head gasket. So now I am faced with the dilemma of either repairing it or replacing it. FWIW...it's a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with 157,000 miles on it. Yeah, the cost of repairing it is almost as much as it is worth for a trade in if it were in good condition. It was...

What's the dumbest thing you've said to a patient?

Respond to a PNB. First responders are there doing chest compressions. My medic tells me to get pt hx from sonwhile he calls medical control to call it DOA. My first questions for the son is..."What was his name?" Yeah... I still look back at that one and hang my head. Rest assured, I have...

    Truck accident

No photo, but we had a truck carrying "refuse" from a meat packer/ slaughter house roll over on a state highway. You can't imagine how greasy the road gets after 10+ tons of fat and bowels are spewed across 4 lanes.

November is National Beard Month... How many of y'all (Ladies excluded) grow a beard for November? How many of your dress codes prohibit having them? I know a lot of the Fire/EMS guys can't due to mask seal issues. Just curious.
