    Hybrid CCP programs

I would like to be able to test for CCP and FP-C exams. If I don’t need to take a full class to do so, I won’t.

    Hybrid CCP programs

Hello, I was curious to see what y’all think of some of the CCP hybrid programs that are out there and if anyone knows of any others besides UF and Creighton? I’m wanting to take my critical care exam, but unfortunately there are not any local to me Thanks!

    CPAP vs BiPAP

EMSA OKC believe it or not.

    CPAP vs BiPAP

Our Vents allow both, and we have protocols for both.

    CPAP vs BiPAP

That is kinda what I figured, but until recently all I had was the disposable CPAP that every private EMS service carries. Now that I have a ventilator with the BiPAP settings I think I'll try it on my next CHF patient.

    CPAP vs BiPAP

For your pulmonary edema/chf patients, which do you prefer? Our vents will do both and we have protocols for both, but this is the first time I've ever had a vent and able to do BiPAP. Why do you prefer one over the other?

    Tulsa Area EMS

OK does. The EMSA contract with OKC states that the paramedic will attend every call. Period. They have a pilot program that is testing some BLS trucks on BLS IFT calls though.

But you still aren’t allowed to ride a call into the ER. Or on a discharge.

    Hard Decision

If your end goal is to be a medic, go straight to medic school. PA’s don’t have to be nurses before going to PA school, and nurses don’t have to be CNAs. 911 experience as an emt is gonna be mostly limited when you’re on an ALS truck. I had 2 emts in my medic class that were fresh out of emt...

    EDC Bag

What are y’all carrying all your stuff in for shift? When I was in paramedic school I had a large backpack that had my textbooks, laptop and stuff in it. Now I’m out and looking for something big enough to carry my phone chargers, iPad, stethoscope and headphones in, but is still small enough to...

Is anyone out there happy with their AMR union contract?

AMR Knoxville’s Union is a joke. The new president is buddy buddy with the management and can’t negotiate for ****. Employees haven’t been able to order uniforms for over a year because negotiating is on going. Only benefit from it was the pay increase. AEMTs are starting at $12.00 and Medics...

    Tulsa Area EMS

It means that you will never be in the back with a patient, the paramedic will. You’ll drive the ambulance. Seems to be a common thing with private services, whom then later wonder why their EMTs are so rusty with skills.

    Paramedic Relocating to Central FL.

I’ve looked at Sunstar. They seem to be a good service. Busy for sure.

    Paramedic Relocating to Central FL.

Hey all. So my fiance has gotten accepted to UCF to finish out her bachelor's and masters, so we are obviously looking for jobs in the Orlando area. I plan on getting into fire academy as soon as I can to get a fire job, bit for now I'm just a paramedic. I have already obtained my Florida cert...

Paramedics, did you let your EMT card expire?

TN just recognizes Paramedic as an upgrade from AEMT, so your license number, and expiration date does not change, just what you’re called. They also require you to be an AEMT before going to medic school.

Moving from NYC to Orlando FL

Florida is heavily Fire based. If you wanna work a 911 rig, plan on getting your Fire certs from a Florida college and applying to a fire department. From what I understand, Florida starting in 2017 has dropped their state test and started accepting National Registry for reciprocity. Sent...

    iPCR

Anyone here using iPCR? If so, what are your thoughts? I use it at my full time gig and it seems like a very good charting software. Better than some of the other ones I've used. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Starting paramedic school

Hello All, I am starting paramedic school on January 19. I am super excited but and cautiously nervous as well. I am wanting to see if anyone can over some study tip, time management tips and any other advice they picked up to make medic school a little bit easier. I've been an EMT-IV and...
