    Sapphire pump programming

We still have 4 MiniMed III at my base location in addition to the 7 sapphires we have. Our company is currently in the process of selling all of the MiniMed III. We have been having such a major issue with the MiniMeds that for the past couple of years we would only put non-critical infusions...

    Sapphire pump programming

Ahh. That would do it. The only issue I have ever ran into is having to change my work laptops display resolution and magnification setting to run the drug library installer. I did just get a new hub that allows me to program 5 pumps at a time which saves times.

    Sapphire pump programming

What issues are you having? It’s always been a straightforward process when I have to update our pumps.

    How do you treat this.

I would first try to determine if the A-Fib RVR is an actual rate issue or if the A-Fib RVR is trying to compensate for something (hypovolemia, sepsis/infection, dehydration, etc. I would get a 12-lead. I may try a 250mL LR bolus to see if there are any changes. If not then 19.25mg Dilt...

    Book question

The book isn't going to be able to cover every little thing. This is where agency SOP comes into play and where your field training time also comes into play. You don't need to buy other books about real-life stories to learn any of them. What someone says they did in the book can be 100%...

    How many crews/providers actually RTFM?

Each one of our bases is supposed to keep the operators manual for every piece of equipment at the base. So we have the manuals from simple stuff like our portable suction units and pedi-mate all the way up to our Hamilton T-1. I think we have 20-25 binders in our clinical office. At one time...

    Lifepak 35

Exactly. A couple of years ago our county put in a requirement that any cardiac monitor must have COR feedback. At the time my ground agency was still using the LP15 and we had to use a completely separate device to monitor the CPR quality however that device 100% of the time just stayed in the...

Wait, a brand new monitor in 2024 and it doesn’t have CPR feedback? That is a huge oversight. That prevents the monitor from being used in my entire county

    Havent renewed NREMT since 2012

It’s not really that difficult to maintain your cert or even to go from active status to inactive and then back to active. It’s only a matter of uploading some CE documents, clicking some buttons, and waiting for your agency’s medical director to approve your skills.

    How about that

Have a low or high blood sugar isn’t usually a good reason to transport someone lights and sirens. People with low sugar and a history of diabetes typically like for us to just get their sugar up and then leave them at home. People’s blood sugar normally have swings so on a continuous...

0.5 seconds before the screen breaks and renders the touch function unusable. I’ve also heard it doesn’t come with a printer so it’s an add on feature that costs extra. I’ll gladly stick with my Zoll X

    Dual Sequential Defibriliation

Several years ago we switched to the AP placement for the defibrillation pads so that is our go to. If we have done multiple defibrillations with success in converting then we will do a vector change and place another set of pads in the “traditional” location and attempt further defibrillations...
