    People have such odd ideas about what the history of organized labor really is. Everything we know today as a safe, productive and fair (such as it is) work place is thanks to people who stood their ground before you, union or not.     Well, I like Detroit myself. Its history is amazing. It would be nice to see it downsized, overhauled and some new life brought into her. The ole city is just a shell of her former self...sad to see.

    Always an advocate for a job and experience. My observation as an instructor is that the experienced basic provider catches on more quickly to critical thinking skills. Good luck.

    I am a huge fan of a person earning thier way to success. It's neither a waste of time nor a waste of money. You'll eat, pay for school and do it on your own terms. Now if mom and dad are footing a 4 year degree then by all means, go for it. Otherwise, a degree paid for out of one's own pocket...

    Terminal tests (exams) are not teaching tools. They are measurements of knowledge, comprehension, application, critical thinking proficiency. The instructor should tell a student how many and perhaps in what areas he/she is deficient, but at no time does a terminal measurement get handed back...

    And we all know we get exactly what we pay for. Pay for quality, you can expect quality people and demand quality performance. The lowest paying companies tend to have lower profits, fewer contracts and more headaches. None of those things belong in a solid business plan.
