    EMR jobs in SK?

EMRs in Canada on a 911 service is next to nonexistent aside for firefighters. :P

    What happened to AHASTI?

EMR costs approximately $1,100 (cost is including text and corresponding taxes), so I don't know what you're going on about.

    You know your an EMT....

If we really are EMTs, we'd find anything we can laugh at/complain about.:P

    Alberta Health Services....lets hear it!

No, I currently do not work for a service that is under AHS. However not much has been felt by the people I know that do.

    Blood Glucose Checks

Up in Canada, it's in the scope of practice for EMRs (equivalent to EMT-B) to check BGL. Most EMS companies that hire EMRs will allow them to operate in their full scope.

    Remedies for chafing?

Haha thanks for the replies guys. I do wear boxer-briefs but they're just not quite doing the trick. I use baby powder right now but it doesn't last very long. I'll give these other remedies a try.

Paramedic helped residents escape house fire

Pretty sure that a vFF on duty as a medic and not firefighter at the time would not have said protective gear available. He didn't get hurt, and that's all that matters.

    Needs new kicks

Yeah, the XPRT Patrols are fairly pricey (just over $200 CND); I'd stay away from zippers, though. They have always been an inconvenience for me (plus my zipper broke just before a shift... wasn't happy about that).

    EMR jobs in SK?

I can't necessarily comment on the availability of positions in terms of 9-1-1 services, but I would be willing to bet there are positions for IFT, event EMS and even some industrial EMS if you know where to look. If you've got experience under your belt, it's obviously a definite asset. Though...

    EMR Training in Edmonton

I, too, would be more willing to suggest ESA over St. John Ambulance simply because they do have an amazing reputation, not only for their EMR but for as an institution as a whole. However I will be taking a EMR refresher soon to keep things fresh in my mind (you don't use it, you lose it) and I...

    Alberta Health Services....lets hear it!

I think that's the general consensus on AHS, whether the mergers had taken place yet or not. Hasn't caused a whole lot of job losses (or creations) yet but could see that in the near future. As for working for Dr. Ducket, that is one thing I'm not overly excited about....

    Alberta EMR Job Experiences?

I'm actually rather glad to see such detailed posts in this thread. It's good to see them answer unasked questions. I, myself, am rather interested in the industrial work, but until I have enough money for other more highly prioritized things I'm stuck in the big city making next to nothing.

    EMS Paintball game?

Pfft try working 86 hours a week. Definitely wasn't my favourite job...

    EMS Paintball game?

Now if only I had the money to fly out for this :( You should all come to Edmonton. Just sayin' :P

    another pair of boots

I'd suggest 5.11 boots. My XPRT Patrol boots are the most comfortable ones I've worn and I'm not nearly as desperate to get them off after a long shift.

    Re: "Paintballers!" thread lock

Yes, asking legitimate questions and seeking legitimate answers, and having them played around more than Tiger and women... Childish.

    Sure, and childish and unprofessional.
