    It's official-kinda (Sarasota, Florida)

Just spoke to the other half who is down in Florida right now for a job interview and she took a job in Sarasota, Florida. So I guess now we are moving down there in mid March. The fun part now begins: looking for a medic job near there, a place to live, and figure out how to get the house...

    Confused about nremt and recertification

You have two options, you can either go take the written test for re-certification or fulfill the continuing education requirements. Contact the NREMT and speak to them directly. Most likely if you were able to re-certify your state license, you might have enough hours for NREMT, you just have...

    Refusal, still collect vitals?

Ok I have not read what everyone has put. here is my view on it. If you do not touch the patient and he/she does not want any medical attention and you do not see anything that is concerning IE GCS 15 Alert and Oriented and no signs of distress/trauma. that is a NO Patient Found type chart...

    national guard medic question

Alright where to start with this... First off, there are currently two different "Medic" programs in the army. Not sure which one you were looking at, but I am guessing just 68w program. This is a 16 week AIT program, takes you through EMT-2011 for the first 8 weeks, and than the last 8 weeks...

    Advice for EMT-B student?

Well first off congrats on starting your EMS Career. I wouldn't say hard, more time consuming. If you have a few brain cells it wont be bad if you pay attention and take notes, along with what I said before a few brain cells. Take notes, flash cards help, study groups, and pay attention...

    NREMT P Psychomotor questions?

    1. Yes you will know at the end of testing if you passed and what your failed. 2. It depends on your site, but I believe for the paramedic you can retest up to 5 stations in one day. If you fail more than 5 than you must take every station over again at a different site. But these depends on...

second guessing your career, should I take it as a life experience and learn from it?

That made my head hurt trying to understand what you were trying to say. Using my brain I am trying to fill in all the blanks. If a patient doesnt want to be taken to "AAA" Hospital and wants to go to "XYZ" Hospital you go to "XYZ". If the person with Power of Attorney same thing. Now if it...

    Assessing an Unresponsive Pt

Unresponsive patients are actually a lot easier to deal with. They don't yell at you, lie to you, talk back to you. Check Responsiveness, than pulse, Air Breathing, Rapid Trauma. Remember Unresponsive is a Trauma Patient until proven otherwise.
