No it didn't. Would have stopped at 70 or higher if you're a basic: http://www.nremt.org/nremt/about/about_exams.asp Here's the deal. Folks look here for info about testing. Please don't mislead them.

    Challenging the Test

I did recert by exam last year for my -P. seemed easier than getting everything together. Easy process. Cut off at minimum 80 questions.

    Not enough ambulances?

Depends. In many states, there are no different "IFT" standards. A CCT truck may even carry more than a 911 rig. In the end, most places have mutual aid agreements that sort this sort of question out ahead of time. Some places (usually big cities) just won't call for help, and will hold calls...

Trading my office for a city rig (NJ EMT QUESTION)

My gut says you're gonna take a pay cut, but I don't know that neck of the woods.

I'm almost afraid to ask... Blankets?

Usually we use "bath blankets" or whatever else we can get from the hospital. I've long lived by the rule that if it's cold, common sense says the patient gets a blanket. And if it's cold out, they get more than one. Often, we are taking them from a warm environment into the cold.

Any states besides NJ that only have hospital-based ALS?

I know of no states that are as restrictive regarding ALS level of care as NJ. I work IFT out of Philly. I do IFT's in NJ sometimes. What I can do in PA, requires a RN in NJ. I don't understand how that makes sense. I've seen countywide tiered systems. They can work quite well. Jersey EMS is...

So, because the Redskins game is going on in the land I volunteer in, I guess I need to root for them. Not that I'm gonna watch the game, but I'm following the scores. The Eagles didn't really PLAY football this year.

I had one a couple of months ago. TCA and a ton of ETOH. Played possum at first, then decided to start fighting me and my partner in the rig when it became clear she wasn't going to be left alone. That was my last patient assault in 2012 (and no, I didn't bother pressing charges) took 2 of us...

Wear both NREMT and state patches?

PA sends out patches w/ certs. As far as I know, there is no requirement to actually wear it, but it is the state patch. Most of the uniform rules I've seen that require a patch say "certification patch", and I've seen more and more folks opting to wear NR vs. PA

Yeah, I was trying to suggest that you take a screenshot next time. If it's that cringe-worthy, it often won't last long. It's a neat skill to learn, but depends on your OS.

    Faces behind the post

For the record, the CL team has long joked about setting up EMTHarmony.com - Except that EMTLife relationships have a tendency to not last. In fact, the only one I can think of that's still going no longer involves EMTLife, for one reason or another. If there IS a successful EMTlife marriage -...
