We have a KED on both our ambulances. Of course, we only have one backboard on each too (though in a pinch, we also have a Miller board on each). If we have more than two PTs requiring C-spine, we'd probably be calling for additional ambulances anyway.

For LA County, I got my temporary license (laminated paper with one of my passport photos) about a week after the class. Can't remember when the permanent license (plastic card with the same photo printed on) came, but it was at least a month or so (that's why they do the temporary).
