    PA Ambulance being investigated

We have been having that issue around here, ever since a well known ambulance chaser showed up in our area. I seem to see this alot. 911 call for "Chest Pain" we get there, and the p.t. is in no obvious distress, but insists on being transported. drop at ED. come back on another run, find out...

How many lights is too many?

The reason that they dont have L+S IS because its OUR job to take the PT. TO Them! Just an opinion tho. EMS Is a Service Industry.

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

No im still here, life got a bit busy. I will post pics probily this weekend. And If you Look @ Code Blue, Its a publicity stunt by Rual Metro and several other groups. IMO, Its a Little bit too far for a major service. but good use of an old rig is a tailgating unit. Our service has a retired...

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

Finally, someone who understands that Volly's can be professional. I know many Paid "Professionals" who dont give a damn about the patients, and hate the entire idea of the job. They want their paycheck, and couldnt care for someone the minute their shift ends. I honestly would rather have a...

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

The shirts we wear when volenteering are Issued jackets for our squad. Im not saying that there are no Halfa$$ people wo are doing CPR with a Cigarette hanging off their lip out there... I have seen that in day to day life. IMO, I will stop if i see an incident that has no-one there, and do what...

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

In areas that cannot afford to run a 24 hour Paid service, would you rather have a volly help you or NO-ONE... Not everywhere is built up enough to even get one run a day, why pay someone to sit around. Its the same with the FD. Learn your Geography and look at a population map...

    Worst illness/injury from working?

Always, be careful out there.. I had to stop working for 4 months to heal recently... you just feel this horrable pang of guilt every time you hear a siren, and cannot be there to help.

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

I will have photos of my rig up once i get my camera figured out. (new digital one, no clue how to work it... I miss my 35mm.) BioDiesel is pretty easy to get around here for cheap, and the rig can move just about anything I need to, does a great job with the travel trailer. my Dodge Dakota...

How many lights is too many?

*grins* that may be true, but it helps the family thats looking out the window wondering why we are not there yet... Time seems to go slow when you are waiting. 8 minutes is an eternity.

How many lights is too many?

As someone who works paid in a City and as a Volly out in the county, L+S... kinda Useless on the backroads, INVALUABLE in Rush Hour Traffic. I know the Thrill of the Siren, but more often it gets on my own nerves. However, Lights on POV's at a Scene... good for VIS. helps SOME people see that...

    OFF DUTY+ a real emergency.

The unit more often gets used as a first aid stand at the local drag strip, and or other community type events. The rig has been used in local parades, it usally ended up being hot out and some of the marchers would sit on the bumper for a bit. The whole thing is used one way in one area and...
