    Strange Procedures

My instructor had a great faker while he was working with a service...they got called to a prison for a seizing pt. When they arrived, all he did was ask him to stop seizing so they could take a look at him...guess what. He stayed there that night.

    Flatline Response vs AHASTI?

I did my EMR back in september with AHASTI, and I wouldn't hesitate to take my EMT with them. I felt that I was very prepared for the ACP exam, and even after waiting this long to write the ACP.....I don't think I'll have a problem. I'm writing the ACP EMR this weekend. Everything has come back...

    ACP EMR Exam in Jan...

So I missed the writing in Nov, my own fault for dragging my feet...but I'm off to Edmonton in Jan to write the ACP exam for EMR. I've got the hotel booked, but I've got a room with two queen beds...if anyone is looking to cut the cost down a bit of the trip, let me know.

    Alberta to BC

Hey guys, I've done some searching, but have only been able to come up with answers for the EMT-P level. I have my EMR, and one of the medics that my father works with in Northern Alberta also has her EMR. She was wondering what the process is for her to be able to work in BC. I know we...

I live in Calgary and I have a few questions.

There are a number of companies in/around Calgary that employ EMR's, EMT's, and EMT-P's for all types of events. Check ACP's webpage on employment for a few of them. I'm not hoping to start any company debates, but you can try talking to Dee S at Emergency Response Training but checking out...

    Radio bleedover

I don't believe that your dept's would have to change complete channels as getting frequencies is hard enough as it is, rather put a tone on the channel. What this does is your radio could receive a transmission let's say 462.675MHz, but unless it's also getting the correct tone, then you...

    Rodeo

One of the groups that I volunteer with, we do the security, money handling, and minor medical for the gay rodeo that happens in Strathmore. The weekend is pretty good, and everyone there is pretty well behaved, even better than most other rodeo's I've been to (and I work at the Calgary...

    The Official EMTLIFE Introduction Thread

Hey all....thought I'd say hello. My name is Scott, and I just got my EMR (EMT-B) certificate. I will be heading to write the Alberta College of Paramedics exam in November so I can actually practice as such. Right now I'm still working my full time job, which unfortunately has no use for my...
