Just a quick question, still on topic. Does a good sam law protect you AFTER you've had training???

I don't know if you are thinking about getting both degrees... but, there is usually a RN to EMT-P track at some colleges, while there is usually no P to RN track (that I know of). If someone was thinking about both degrees, it seems easier to do RN first, then EMT-P. Just something to think...

I bought one of the ALS versions during my basic class and I used to find drug name spellings for reports... the ALS one has all the same stuff and more drugs, plus you can use it longer if you go on in licensure.

What is the proper way to splint a flail chest? I was told in my class that it was to splint it when it's "in"... is that right?

They are going to be instituting it into the EMT-B class here (NM) next semester. Along with 200 and 700...

Not to get off the subject of O2 and pain, but, can a EMT-Basic even get certed for ACLS? I heard that you can go through the class and learn the stuff but can't a cert for it... I'm confused... maybe I need O2... does it help with confusion??? :rolleyes:

I thought that OSHA regs require that the company provide ppe... :unsure:

I just got a Littman Classic II S.E. courtesy of the FD I volunteer for. I love it. It was really clear to me the other night when my wife (who has no medical training) put 'em on and listened to our 3 year old and said "Wow I can hear hear her breathing with these!!!" She had listened before...

I just went on the 1st of a couple of ride-alongs this semester. My advice would be stand back the first call and see how the crew works, then get in there all you can after that. Ask questions. Talk with your preceptors after the calls. DON'T go in thinking you know it all... Have fun. Relax...

I've got a couple of different kinds of 5.11's and I love 'em both. I got a pair of cheapies off of Galls clearance... they really aren't too bad, I like 'em better than some other brands of pants I've tried. I also have a high dollar pair of 5.11's and they are just great: fit, function...

Can anyone explain the difference between the two I levels on the NREMT? I haven't gotten too much sleep in the past week (EMT-B clinicals, class, VFD calls, family, etc...) but, I can't seem to get through the legalese... oh yeah and if this is a repost, can someone point me in the right...
