Hi, I'm a medic in AZ and looking to move back to CA. With that being said I have plenty of experience but I tend to get looked over because I'm terrible at job interviews. So does anyone have any advice like what questions they usually ask, how to answer the questions, and what are good...
Running IFT's is great experience if your an EMT because that's where you learn how to talk to patients and do assessments....most of the new EMT's I work with as a Medic on a 911 ambulance suck at both of those things because they never do it. (EMT's have to drive on all our calls, which...
I think it depends on the person, some people learn quick and may only need a few months. On the other side of things, I've seen people who are so used to being a "paramedic's assistant" on calls after years of being an EMT that they cant get used to being a leader and being the guy in charge...
Hi everyone, I'm a Medic in Arizona who's looking to move to Colorado, and I'm wondering what the best companies to work for are, and who I should stay away from? I'm looking at moving somewhere between Colorado Springs, Denver, and Fort Collins. Is it tough to get hired as a Medic out there? Thanks
I live on the far south end of town away from everything, I guess thats why I never see any good looking women. But the people in Havasu are still way better to look at then those Hillbillies that live in Kingman, AZ
"White women?" you mean 80 year old white women? Haha, the only time good looking women show up is for 3-4 weeks during sring break.....Havasu is basically one giant retirment community in the winter, so thats our busy season....people getting run over by boats in the summer and old people...
Haha, its ok, at best. The pay for Medics is fairly good, about 48,000/yr if you don't pick up any overtime, and 30,000/ yr for EMTs. All our ambulances are staffed with 1 EMT and 1 medic. We work either 12 or 24 hour shfts, and have a shift bid every 6 months. We have one of the largest...
It took me about 2 weeks for my EMT in so cal for an IFT company, but that was in 2006 when everyone in So Cal was hiring. It took me 2 months when I got my medic in 2011 but I had to go out of state. As far as LA County goes, the 4 places you'll get tons of 911 experience are McCormick, AMR...
Hi everyone, I've been at AMR for 5 years, i've worked here long enough to know that every division is very different, and can range from Good, to bad, to ugly. I'm looking to get out of AZ because its way to hot, its 90 right now at 12pm in April. So I was wondering how things are at everyone...
