    ER Tech training

Here the hospitals require a minimum of CNA, a there is no way for EMT-Bs, I, or P to "challenge" the test...you have to take the CNA course which is stupid in my opinion.

    Just One Piece of Advice

I was wondering why we didn't take it in in the first place but wasn't really in a position to ask at that point

    Just One Piece of Advice

This goes contrary to what I was told on a call. Called to a nursing home go in asses and the medic told me to run (and he emphasized the word run) back out to the medic and get the Life Pack... So are there certain situations where you should or is it pretty much a blanket "don't run" policy?

    Personal vehicle lighting

Where I volunteer the only person allowed to have lights and sirens in a POV is the current Fire Chief and the Fire Police (basically they show up and direct traffic, can only use Lights on scene). Chief can get them because they pretty much have to show up to every fire call even from home...

New/paramedic to be biggest fears :s

Oh I know. It's just ironic that he said it because of something he had said in another thread.

Please stop making more medical junk!

Bullets. During my EMT class always thought those were too small to be effective but never knew for sure

    Top 20 frivolous Calls

Got dispatched to a nursing home for trouble breathing. 94 year old man on a non-rebreather with the tank CLOSED. :o Yeeeeah...no wonder he was having trouble breathing.

BS in Paramedic care: Northern Arizona University

Maybe a dumb question, but if you already have an NREMT-P what good will a degree do you?

    ambulance speed?

No more than 15mph over posted limits with Lights and sirens, stop at all lights and stop signs and use due caution.

    Anxiously Waiting...

I'm just starting the process. I go for written testing this weekend, but it was over a month from the time I applied to the time I was contacted about written, and I'm sure it will be another month between written and physical agility testing.

    Anxiously Waiting...

I always hate the waiting game, I'm trying to get one with one of the County Fire/EMS agencies in my area and the waiting game drives me crazy... Good luck :D

140/80 and you're calling for ALS intercept for hypertensive crisis?

Yeah, I guess so as long as there aren't any extenuating circumstances. So in this case, monitor vitals, put on O2 and transport?
