We are anal, because we do not want to go back for a rekindle- that does not look to good. Also, my company is very much into public relations - we know it's hard enough to have to deal with the fire but the aftermath is worse - so we do what we can to make a wee bit less painful. I am only a...
Toned out for a 28 yom - possible Herion overdose. Sure enough we get on scene and find him unconscious, respirations are about 8. We bag him while the medic draws up his trusty Narcan. Narcan onboard - patient wakes up and proceeds to punch me in the face (blackened my eye). Once he really...
Sounds like your guy was on PCP - that makes them think they are superman and gives them the strength to go with it. It has been my experience (as limited as it is, only 2 years in EMS) that the idiots are always the ones who slide by. Like the Drunk Driver that wipes out the family of 5, and...
Try the Brady "Basic Arrhythmias" book by Gail Walraven it has flash cards and simple easy to understand language. It is standard issue in the EMT-P courses here in Maryland.
Hope that helps you some - if not there is Mosby Lifeline ECGs MAde Easy.
Good luck with your new job!
Welcome Shug!
I am in the I class and Pharmacology eludes me as well. I wish I had some wonderful advice to give, but I don't. If you should come up with something good please share.
NEVER FORGOTTEN!
A dear friend was caught in the malay at the Pentagon that day - she recovers slowly - there are still surgeries in the works for her but she is alive and thankful for it. However in the ensuing efforts to stop terrorism, I have lost my dearest friend and I include him in my...
I am a little late, but welcome to the forum. Hope you are around a long time!
Maryland is not getting any of Ivan, but my family in Alabama is getting their buts kicked but good.
That one Cardiac Arrest patient in a million who actually makes it and tries to smile at you or squeeze your hand in thanks!
Makes all those hours of CPR and bagging mean something!
Hey Chimpie
I am right there with you - I can't wait to see this movie, I know it was great fun to watch them film it. (I was working in Baltimore at the time)!
If the finished product is as exciting as the actual filming process it is definately a winner!
Boy is this a timely topic - I am just starting an EMT-I course through my Volly company and I can tell you that I am very HAPPY that I have some experience to back it up.
I have been feeling like a fish out of water in this class and to be sure my experience is limited (I have only been a...
Hey Croaker260,
I totally understand that whole life changing thing going on!!! When my youngest son was born - he had some serious medical issues - we almost lost him - I didn't get to hold him for the first time until he was 11 days old - and then for only for about 5 minutes.
I learned...
