    EMS in Columbus, MS

I'm an EMT in Little Rock, AR. My fiance' is in the Air Force and we are being stationed in Columbus, MS next June. I'm trying to get my EMT in Mississippi but I need a prospective employer. My research, which I think is pretty good, is getting me no where. Anyone from that area know anything...

Mentally tough enough to be an EMT?

Here,s my perspective: I've been an EMT now for almost 2 years. Although I don't have as many years as some, I can say that you don't see the gross stuff and the dying as often as you think. When you get to a scene that has potential to be the bad stuff, I immediately go to another level of...

    What got you into EMS

I've always been interested in it! I have a very special learning disability and have to learn in a hands on classroom. I tried nursing and couldn't grasp it because it was too much book work and not enough clinical time. With EMT school, honestly we learned it hands on first then applied it...

    Had My First Code!!

That's hilarious and crazy all at the same time! Not surprised the hosptial threw their hands up and gave you the keys! Sometimes they will avoid responsibilty at all costs. I've seen this a time or two. However it sucks it came back on your guys! What a heck of a first code!

I was realesed July 15 from a 7 week orientation which involves riding and learning how to handle these ALS trucks as well as the functions of my job. Basically the street way. Each day I worked, the calls I would receive were...

And what helped me was narrowing down the 2 answers were definitely wrong. Gave me a 50% chance rather than %25. :)

I wear original swat boots and I love them! Very comfortable. Pricey but worth it.

Good luck!! Remember not everyone gets the same amount of questions. Don't get nervous if others are done before you. Take your time! Remember ABC. airway first, breathing second, circulation next. You'll do great!!

    Dayton, OH - Possible Re-Location

I'm an EMT in Little Rock, AR and there is a possibility of me moving to the Dayton area in 2 years. Yes, I know, 2 years is a long time but my fiancé is deploying to Turkey in February 2013 for 15 months before we arrive in OH so I'm getting my research in early. If you are from or work in...

    Where would you relocate?

Consider Little Rock, AR I work for MEMS in Little Rock, AR as an EMT. I was part of their rookie program. They have their own 911 dispatch, pair medics with EMT's on ALS trucks and BLS make more an hour. The coverage is very large. Hours are 12's, 24's (in outlying areas) and some locations...
