THe best time I had in clinicals was at a small community hospital. We had a STEMI patient come in and I got to see the treatment from start to finish. Rig to ER to cath lab, watched the entire procedure, then I wheeled him to ICU myself. Pretty cool how things get cooking when the heart...
Hey all-
Haven't been around in a while, but I'm glad to say I'm done with EMT academy...passed with a 98% overall average, and I'm taking my NREMT and practicals in August.
Look out, here I come!:beerchug:
If you have a bell side on your stethoscope, try listening with that side if you can't hear it with the diaphragm (flat) side. That works for me 9 outta 10 times.
We've been taught and tested on the Combitube in our Basic program. The ALS guys that teach the class would like to see them used more often, if protocol allows.
I appreciate your hijack... we are doing our CPR on Monday. I have a card already because I work at a hospital. My instructor told us we can test out if we want, but I want to do the hands on stuff again. I dig all that practice!
Good luck in your class!

OK, so my uniform is black pants, BDU's fine, our issued t-shirt for class, issued polo shirt for clinicals, and black shoes or boots. Ten demerits for incomplete, dirty, or non-existent uniform.
And that's that:rolleyes:
