Thanks
Finally moved back to Philly, and found decent employment within a week. Thank you to all who responded. I was rather surprised see the pay rate no less than $12 per hour, as in Pittsburgh an experienced EMT was lucky to get $10 an hour. I do have EVOC, not sure why so many don't...
I fail to see how HIPPA can stop us from reporting a possible crime. Or, for that matter, how this would violate HIPPA in this situation. Giving the name alone has nothing to do with HIPPA, since nothing medical is being reported.
Yet if that is the case, why are isolations the 2nd item on t he medical necessity forms, under bed confined? Also, look ukulele g at the medicare and medicaid documentation for at least 6 states so far, it clearlybstates that isolations cannot be transported via wheelchair van.
Medical necessity states they need BLS transport for isolations of MRSA, for example. Management is telling me it's not a valid reason for BLS transport.
I am currently having an argument with management about reasons for BLS transport over wheelchair van. They are currently under the impression that isolations (VRE, MRSA, AIDS, HEP-C, ect...) are able to be transported via wheelchair van, and are not reasons for BLS transport. I am trying to...
Thanks for the advice, I didn't know TransCare was down there... I worked for them up in Pittsburgh. I am an EMT-B at the moment, going for my NREMT asap, as I live in PA atm.
Apparently it is a different TransCare than the one I worked for up here, lol
I am planning on moving to the Clearwater FL area by mid-June, and am having a hard time finding companies to apply at as an EMT. Any advice would be welcomed on where to apply at. Thanks in advance!
I have been trying to find out where I can take my NREMT test. I am living in Pittsburgh PA, so any help would be appreciated. I didn't see a post about this so I decided to post here. Thanks in advance!
Was wondering what the test was like, if people thought it was difficult, stuff like that. Been an emt for a year so far. Any and all feedback accepted.
